Parrot Hooked Rug

This is a very fun hooked rug!   A Budgie on a flowering branch, perhaps, or maybe a Parrot?  A bright yellow sun shimmers over all.  I just love the slashes of clouds in the sky!  It sort of has an Art Deco feel to it, doesn't it?  Original composition rugs with good visual appeal are much sought after by collectors of Folk Art.

This rug would be just as at home in today's environment as it was when it was made in the early part of the 20th Century.  The colors, while still bright have softened somewhat from what they were when the rug was originally made.  Actually, I like them much better the way they are today.  Made of silks hooked onto a burlap foundation, this is a sturdy little rug that would look marvelous in a room with white wicker furniture, or perhaps a bathroom or garden room.  Don't be aftaid to use it and enjoy it!  Overall condition is very good with only minor surface wear to be expected due to its age and use.
