Gonic, New Hampshire, Glazed Redware Vase

The handleless jar has a beauty of form that is not surpassed in the the finest ware of the Orient.  Its sloped shoulder, swelling and then tapering to the base give it perfect proportion.  With its gently rolled rim it is quite possible it was intended to be used as a flower vase.

The olive glaze with peach and brown splotches is drop dead gorgeous and classic Gonic Ware. Overall condition is excellent with only some slight to-be-expected wear to the glaze on the rim and an in the making potstone burst on the back. 13 inches tall.
