Ivory Pie Crimper Presented here, a fine 19th Century Ivory Pie Crimper (Jagging Wheel) in the stylized form of a Seahorse with a five-point star cutting wheel and two stylized hearts on the handle. The handle is shaped with two inward curving areas so it fits nicely into the hand. It is 4-3/4" long. According to Ashley in The Yankee Whaler, the graphic tooth was the commonest bit of Scrimshaw and the busk the most sentimental but they provided no mechanical problems to tax Yankee ingenuity . . .
