Pair of Sandwich Glass Whale Oil Lamps

Presented here, a beautiful pair of Sandwich Glass Whale Oil Lamps in fine condition.  They are circa 1845-55.  Two part mold blown fonts and bases joined by a glass wafer, they still retain the original early style brass collars. They have been professionally converted to electricity with fenestrated metal bases.  The font pattern is Hearts and Diamonds with Alternating Thumbprint Sawtoooth Centers. The shades are hand blown lead crystal of the same era . . . acid etched and then cut and polished, creating the pattern. They are impressive, standing 17-1/2" high yet still delicate.
