Leah Galligher is credited with establishing the regional characteristics of the body of work known as the Susquehnna Valley Samplers that were produced in Lancaster, York, and Dauphine counties between 1797 and 1838.  She and her twin sister Rachel Armstrong both produced samplers in this body of work.
