Straight Sided Maple Burl Mortar with
Black Ash Pestle

Presented here, a superb straight sided Maple Burl Mortar with a Black Ash Pestle with decorative incised lines.  The decorative turnings on the exterior of the Mortar have nearly disappeared from centuries of usage.  We date this in the 1650-1750 period.  5-1/2" high and 5-1/2" wide.
