Hand Wrought Iron Floor Candlestand

Stout in construction plus delicate in design make this hand wrought iron 2 candle Lighting Stand quite special.  The curved tripod base, round in cross section ending in the best of "penny feet" support the gently tapering vertical shaft of 60-3/4".  The tapered shaft limits the descent of the candle's cross piece to about 24" for the cup bases (ideal chair reading height).

The candle cups are about 1" inside diameter.  The cups are thru fastened to the cross arms which have been hammered into a 1-5/8" round at this point using swaged shafts for connection at this point.  Mr. Eiffel would have admired this engineering!

All in all this Lighting Standard is great in artistry and crafting . . . a not often found combination.  Truly a stellar addition to any collection of early lighting or a perfect stand alone piece in a country environment. Circa, early 1700's and in excellent condition.
