Carved Fish

This is an exceptional carving, beautifully done by an expert carver lavishing many, many hours to bring his mind's concept to reality.  We rarely see this level of artistry in carving.  One could readily imagine it was done as a gift for a loved one.  An artistic treasure with significant utility to boot. There is a very well done, old repair to the tail that is mentioned for the sake of accuracy. It, in no way compromises the integrity of the piece.

 Now, this is more than a carving.  When you open it up, it is a stamp box . . . a wonderful desk accessory for the fisherman who has everything.   Wonderful folk Art . . .Form plus Function! 8 inches long.  It even has a 1-1/2 cent stamp left inside!
