Heart Decorated Wall Sconce

Tin over sheet iron, lapped and soldered

joints and socket with ejection aperture...

Four Punched Hearts!

Circa 1800-1820

 

The rectangular back having embossed vertical decoration and wire reinforced sides beneath the crimped smoke protector with punched hanging hole centering one of four punch decorated hearts. The single candle socket with folded rim is soldered to half-round drip-tray with folded top and bottom rims. Nice surface with traces of red paint. (Height: 13.5 inches; width: 4.25 inches; depth: 3 inches.)
