Oval Pantry Box in Yellow Paint
Yellow Oval Pantry Box . . . The top and bottom are white pine, the opposing laps are maple, fastened with four wooden pegs and two iron tacks. The painted surface shows some wear due to age and usage and a bit of discoloration on the top and on the fingers where one would grasp it to open it. The top fits snugly and the shape is more rectangular than oval which points to a Hingham origin, and most likely Hersey. A nice small size for the top of the stack or to hold tiny treasures, pins, buttons, etc. L 4" W 2-6/8" H 1-5/8". A lovely little box in great paint, from a collection to an appreciator/collector. $2100.00
