Silhouette of a Woman in a Bonnet
There is a charming simplicity in this silhouette. It is of the cut and paste variety. No adornment whatsoever, but very well executed. I believe the subject to be wearing a coat (or cloak) and a bonnet. Just popped in to have her profile cut and then was on her way. It was not easy to capture the likeness and manner of a subject in stark profile with just a few clippings from a simple sheet of paper, but this artist managed to accomplish just that. The silhouette is nicely framed in an ebonized wooden frame with a great patinated brass acorn hanger. A patinated brass oval frames the convex glass that covers the profile. The frame measures 6-3/4" h x 5-1/3" w. The condition is absolutely wonderful . . . no stains, tears, or imperfections. As a package, this one is hard to beat! $395.00 R9B28515 Questions?
