19th C. Tiger Maple Scoop
Presented here a very fine 19th Century Tiger Maple Scoop with such strong graining you can actually "feel" it! We're partial to figured woods and this is one of the best we have had. What is unique about this piece is the fact that a notched indentation has been carved just off the shoulder on each side. A nice little touch that elevates this utilitarian object to a higher level. Also, there is a noticible indentation in the handle where the thumb fits nicely that attests to its repeated use. Things like this "speak" to us from the past. The size is 10" long and the bowl is 4" wide at the widest part. Condition is excellent.
