Pair Opalescent Coin Dot Hand Lamps
Presented here, a PAIR of hand lamps from the mix and match group, c. 1860-1890.  This is the "Venetian" pattern, also called "Coin Spot". . . Opalescent circles in a blue glass blown font mounted on a clear ribbed base.  They have an unusual handle presentation seldom found on this lamp that adds a nice decorative touch.  Included are fine, period, beaded chimneys.  These chimneys are clear athough the camera is picking up a pinkish color in the glass.  The lamps themselves are 4-3/4" high and 13-1/4" high to the top of the chimney.

Now, in a perfect world these would be perfect, but alas that is not the case.  There is a line in the handle of one lamp at the top and a small fracture where the handle attaches to the font at the bottom of the font.  On the second there is a short fracture in the dished part of the top that does not go through down the font and cannot even be felt on the outside.  Neither of these affects the integrity of the font or the lamp's ability to be used.   These are beautiful little hand lamps and it is so rare to find a matched pair.  We would prefer to keep them together as they have come to us but might be willing to entertain the idea of separating them.
