Northeastern Woodlands Tiger Maple Paddle/Scoop
Presented here, a Northeastern Woodlands Indian Paddle or Scoop made of wonderful Tiger Maple with very fine figure. Paddles and Scoops are preparation tools and would be used in the preparation and serving of food. (Ladles would generally have a deeper bowl where this one is rather flat.) This is a simple but striking scoop with a stylized terminal that reminds me somewhat of a bird's head.
Size: 11-1/8" long. The bowl is 5" long x 4-1/2" wide with one side slightly flattened as would be the case if the paddle was used for scooping. Condition is very fine with no splits or cracks.
