Pair C. 1800 Wrought Iron Candlesticks, Tripod Legs
Presented here, a RARE Pair of Wrought Iron Candle Holders of a very unusual form.  Most likely wrought by a rural blacksmith, the forging technique is somewhat unrefined but very appealing.  Their unique carrying handles are skillfully forge peened through the center shafts and the shafts are peened through the co-joinment of the gently curving legs.

With slight variation in measurements due to the hand crafting of the candlesticks, the stately pair stands approximately 14.75" tall with the splay between pairs of their tripod legs with penny feet ranging between 7.4" and 8" wide.  They are in excellent condition.  Having been blackened by a previous owner, their patina is a deep and rich black.  Simple and elegant . . . a fine addition to a collection of early lighting or a lovely accent in a country home.
