Mocha Agate Cup and Saucer Presented here, a very fine and RARE little surface or inlaid agate English Pearlware cup and saucer with inlaid slip rouletted band. The surface agate is composed of bits of different colored clay sprinkled into a field of wet slip, then cut smooth on the lathe a rather labor intensive process. The colors found on this little cup and saucer are really quite soft and pleasing to the eye, lending a very delicate appearance to this little survivor. Seafoam Green, Ivory, Peach, Rust and Brown comprise the color palate which is very lovely. The cup measures 3" in diameter (without the handle) and is 1-3/4" tall. The saucer is 4-7/8" in diameter and 1-1/8" high. The condition is outstanding and worthy of a place of honor in any collection. Circa, 1790-1810 R07F105221 5781 Questions? Ask the Ferret!
